Within the fauna, there is a charismatic monkey, the Cotton Top Tamarin, a squirreled – size primate that takes the first place as one of Colombia’s most appealing endemic mammals. At 6:00 a.m. we drive out of Cartagena towards the Bolivar´s department, in this area, We hike to discover the flora, the fauna of this region. At 12:00 p.m. approx., we have a typical lunch from the area. At 1:00 p.m. approx. we leave the region. Approximate Driving Time: 2,0 hours. Approximate Hiking Time: 3,5 hours.

Olinto was a wonderful...

Olinto was a wonderful guide and taught us a great deal about the tropical dry forest on our excursion. He is very passionate about what he does and it shows! We saw a sloth, and different species of monkeys and birds, as well as countless plants and trees. We greatly enjoyed the breakfast and lunch that were included. We were asking about street food and places to eat in Cartagena and Olinto sent us a great list after the tour. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience on this hike! Olinto was so prepared and sent us lots of information on what to expect before. On our hike we got to see howler monkeys, cotton-top tamarins, and capuchins! It was amazing. Olinto was so knowledgeable about the ecosystem and biodiversity of the forest. The breakfast and lunch were also amazing! We would highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to see more of Colombia and get out of the city.

Olinto was an amazing and personable guide. The tour was very well organized and beginner friendly. We enjoyed Olinto’s explanations of interesting and relevant natural/animal facts. Both included meals were delicious and gave us a taste of authentic Colombian cuisine. He is the only one offering a tour like this on any platform and we would highly recommend booking!

Amazing Wildlife & Rainforest Experience with a Knowledgeable Guide

This tour offers a deep dive into Colombia’s rainforest, its biodiversity, and conservation efforts. Olin, our guide, shared fascinating insights about the flora, fauna, and geography of the region. The howler monkeys were a highlight, and we even spotted cotton-top tamarins—tiny, endangered primates. The hike wasn’t difficult (at least in the dry season), so we could take our time appreciating nature. While birds were hard to see through the canopy, we certainly heard them! Traditional breakfast and lunch were included, making for a well-rounded experience. If you enjoy nature and learning about ecosystems, this tour is worth it.

Olintho does an amazing tour. He explains everything and makes it relaxing and fun . This place is precious and for good reason . He and the people that are associated are great land stewards . This was sauntering through the forest ( that's a beautiful thing ) not hiking John Muir quote. Look it up
