  • Nasrid Palaces

    Three palaces form this enclosure: the Mexuar, the Palace of Comares (Yusuf I) and the Court of the Lions (Mohammed V).

  • Alcazaba

    The Alcazaba, or fortress, is the oldest part of the Alhambra. It was built in the mid-13th century by the Sultan Alhamar, the founder of the Nasrid dynasty.

  • Generalife

    The complex consists of the Patio de la Acequia (Court of the Water Channel or Water-Garden Courtyard), which has a long pool framed by flowerbeds, fountains, colonnades and pavilions, and the Jardín de la Sultana (Sultana's Garden or Courtyard of the Cypress).

  • Palace of Carlos V

    The Palace of Charles V is a Renaissance building in Granada, southern Spain, located on the top of the hill of the Assabica, inside the Nasrid fortification of the Alhambra. The building has never been a home to a monarch and holds the Alhambra's museum.

Worthwhile tour

The start was a bit stressful, as I had booked a tour for 10:00am. I got a message at 12:30am telling me the time needed to be pushed back to 9:30am. We arrived at about 9:15am, and so my husband went to get coffee. While he stepped away, our tour guide called asking where we were because our tour was supposed to start at 9:00am. This made the start a bit rushed, and I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't seen the message at 12:30am. Our tour guide Ester was excellent. She provided a lot of information, recommended the best places for photographs, and gave us a little time to explore each area. We did not feel rushed during the tour. I would definitely recommend doing a tour with Ester. I am really happy we decided to take a tour and not just wander through on our own. El Alhambra es una maravilla!

Alhambra: Not to be missed!

You can't go to Granada and not spend some time visiting the majestic Alhambra. We enjoyed our private tour so much. Words cannot express the beauty the Alhambra holds within its grounds, but the presence it has over the city. We learned so much history and stories as we took in the incredible gardens and views.

Definitely take a private tour for the full experience.

A Wonderful tour of the Alhambra

We had a private tour on the 8th of October, 2024 and our guide was excellent. His knowledge of the history and the Alhambra was extensive. He allowed us to go at our pace and we were able to see the whole area, all structures and the gardens. The ability to avoid lines and have such a personal experience was worth the investment. The Alhambra was the reason we traveled to Granada and our expectations were exceeded.
