Stroll past stalls bursting with large sea critters and colorful vegetables. Enjoy the delicious sushi lunch, and then explore Asakusa district, where the famous Senso-ji Buddhist temple is located and tastes some Japanese sweets. Meet your friendly local guide at the main gate of Tsukiji Honganji Temple, quickly making your way to the vibrant Tsukiji Fish Market. Wander around the many small shops and taste samples along with the menu while your guide tells you some stories and histories behind. Next, head to Asakusa district, considered one of the most traditional parts of Tokyo.     Meet your guide in front of the gate of Tsukiji Honganji Temple at 8:15 am and start exploring the Tsukiji fish market with a history of 80 years as the biggest fish market in Japan.

Many chefs of Michelin-star restaurants come and buy special ingredients in Tsukiji. On this food tour, you will learn about Japanese culture while sampling various kinds of symbolic Japanese food including Japanese style omelette, dried bonito, Japanese tea, fresh tuna, fried fish cakes, sake, sushi!! A fantastic must-do for first-timers visiting Japan!

This was a great experience! Our tour guide, Sam, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained how to pray at the Shinto and Buddhist shrines and temples and had a ton of interesting facts. We got to watch tamago being made, tried grilled skewered meat and sake, and fresh strawberries. Everything was delicious! He also took us the Asakusa and showed us a view of the SkyTree and the Asahi Golden Flame (or "Golden Poop" as some call it!) He explained how to use the Japanese subway system, which I admit was confusing to me, but afterward I was able to take a trip to Akihabara on my own. There was a lot of walking in the tour, but Sam was patient and accommodating, helping us find elevators when they were available. I'd recommend this trip to anyone visiting Japan!

Excellent tour. We sampled quite a variety of foods and visited many of the shops. Was great to have had a couple of points in the tour where we sat down to eat and rest a bit. Shrines and temples were beautiful, glad we got a peek at those.
