Overview

We strongly recommend to start at 5AM for the best views and experiences. Starting from your hotel or train station or anywhere within our pickup area, for 2 to 3-hour ride through dense areas, tradisional markets, and the mountainous winding roads. After arriving, we will see the waterfall panorama from the above. Take a walk down through a thousand steps and enjoy the tumpak sewu from the bottom. Take tons of pictures and continue to Telaga Biru for a dip-in. Climb up to the beautiful Goa Tetes, a hiden place that a few knows about and back to the parking lot. Bottled mineral water is available on board for free, and a pit stop for coconut at the end of the trip. Meals is not provided, but you can ask to stop by and try Malang local foods in your way back to hotel. Other option is to take a 2 hours atv rides near waterfall for 600k/pax/atv. Malang

We are going from Malang city center through some rural area with the view of Mount Semeru, the highest mountain in Java which is 3,676 m asl. Traditional market and the crowd doing morning activities are the view along the curvy road for about 2 hours one way.

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

Prepare your swimming suit and tracking shoes for an adventuring trip to the biggest waterfall in Java. After arriving, we will see the waterfall panorama from above. Take a walk down through a thousand steps and enjoy the tumpak sewu from the bottom. Take tons of pictures and continue to Telaga Biru for a dip-in. Climb up to beautiful Goa Tetes and back to the parking lot. You will need a strong heart and a pair of healthy knees for the 3 to 4 hours of exploration. Not recommended for elders or children under 10. There are some stalls selling fruits and snacks around the area.

We will have the same route back to Malang in similar time and different afternoon views. Go for lunch at local culinary and stop by the gift shop for local coffee bean and snack (by request).

Fani is a great guide, he is propably the best, who I've ever met. He took me to secret places, shoved me a lot of fun things. With him Tumpak Sewu was like an adventure park, and that was what i needed. Plus, he shared a lot of things about indonesian history (which i am interested in), gave me food tips.. so, i fully recommend this adventure, it is not a usual trip, and that is what you are coming for in Jawa. Dont miss it, he is the best ❤️

The perfect tour!

The trip to the Tumpak Sewu waterfalls was absolutely incredible. By far the best tour I've ever done! Fani was great, he knows the place like the back of his hand & still enjoys going there. He's the only guide who's doing these kind of cave climbs, which were a highlight of my Southeast-Asia trip! Just bring a good dry bag with shoulder straps to climb the waterfalls & caves - you'll get fully drenched! Also bring non-slip water shoes, because the metal stairs & algae covered rocks are very slippery. Bring a GoPro if you have one, because you don't want to fumble with your phone while climbing a waterfall or standing in a dripping wet cave. Only bring a drone if you're a confident flyer: the signal is quite week in the canyon, there are a few obstacles around & no ideal place on the ground for landing. Fani came well prepared with waterproof phone cases for his guests & plastic bags for other stuff - he even gave me a bracelet at the end of the trip as a thank-you gift. His English is great for having conversations. He's also a great driver & does not speed like many other Indonesian drivers, so I could rest in the early morning before the hike.

We lucked out when we found Fani online via Viatour and had some questions. We booked direct and I’m so pleased we booked with him. Not only did we book the Tumpak Sewu day trip but we also booked a sunrise trip to Mt Bromo and on his advice included Madakaripura waterfall. Communication up to the trip was great, Fani was organised and on time and collected us from our hotel early to make sure we got a great spot for the sunrise at Bromo. We also had Madakaripura Waterfall to ourselves which was amazing! Highly recommend the waterfall. Fani was great company throughout the day and genuinely our favourite guide we’ve had in Indonesia! The next day we did a trip to Tempak Sewu and had another amazing day. Fani took great photos and sent us a Google drive with all the photos and videos he had taken. 1000% recommend! If we are ever back in Indonesia we wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Tumpak sewu is great, the tour is even better. Our tour guide Calvin is a very nice and interesting man and good at taking photos, recognizing local plants and making movie clips. Our drive is also excellent and our customer service is nice and helpful. Since we start from Surabaya we have to start early. But it is totally worthy! Highly recommended!

Beautiful waterfall!

One of the prettiest waterfalls in Indonesia! About 2 hours from Malang Center, it is a world apart, with water cascading, lush plants, and amazing views. It is a steep climb down to the bottom and back up, wear good water shoes.
