Overview

Don't just wonder the Gardens aimlessly without a guide. Our guide is a university trained Naturalist who previously worked at the Gardens. Our tour begins with a scenic 45 min bus ride from PV. The guide will then lead us through multitude of different gardens and hothouses up to 2 hours giving detailed explanations of what we encounter. Scientific explanations mixed with Mexican folklore. Then we take an hour break so you may dine at the award winning restaurant with scrumptious food and amazing views over the stunning river canyon. After lunch we will take a short guided nature walk (15 minute) down to the beautiful Horkenos River to relax and swim for approx. 1 hour. After we will have a final opportunity to visit the gift shop/nursery and visit a few areas of the garden while we make our way back to the parking. In PV will will have an optional free tequila tasting experience where you can taste up to 10 different tequila expressions including flavored dessert tequilas.

Itinerary

  • Conchas Chinas (Pass By)

    We will drive through along the beautiful vacation homes, oceanside villas and spectacular beaches.

  • Los Arcos de Mismaloya (Pass By)

    We view the Massive pink granite islands and the wave carved arches through them as we pass by along the stunning coast commonly know as "South Shore" of the Banderas Bay.

  • Mismaloya (Pass By)

    We will catch a introductory look at the old fishing village of Mismaloya as we pass by. See the famous hotel painted pink and the setting in the hit TV show Acapulco.

  • Boca de Tomatlan (Pass By)

    Catch an introductional look at Boca de Tomatlan as we pass by. Notice all the yachts and boats in the protected cove of the bay where the river canyon meets the bay.

  • Jardin Botanico de Vallarta

    After a beautiful drive along the south coast of the bay and through the spectacular river canon surrounded by a jungle canapy arrive to the Botanivcal Gardens. Spend the first 2 hours with a university educated naturalist guide exploring the most significant and popular garden plantings at the world renowned and one of top five best Botanical gardens in North America. Then with our adventure guide continue the tour with a hike of the outer and more wild trails of the Botanical Garden. Take an hour break for lunch and to visit the displays of the visitors center. Then spend the next few hours hiking and visiting the river in the canyon below. Relax on a huge boulder or swim in the refreshing pools of the river.

The very best option if you visit!

Abraham was our guide, with extensive information about so much! I can get lost in these situations when I know little about the topic, but that did not happen here: Abraham is very knowledgeable, with an attentive and pleasant style. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and has the flexibility and range to cover a lot of subjects. In other words, he will tailor and pace the experience to your particular interests — and with good humor. In short, a perfect guide! I highly recommend this tour.

This was a great tour. Abraham was a very knowledgeable guide. He pointed out all types of plants and birds. We saw Macaws, wood storks, and two types of woodpeckers. He taught us about the many different types of plants and emphasized how all things in Nature work together. It was just my husband and myself so Abraham was able to customize our tour. We enjoyed a tasty lunch, we spend some time wading in the river and tasted some tequila on the way back . All in all a great day, and now we feel a bit more confident about taking the bus !

Botanical Garden and Tuito, Jalisco

The garden itself is fascinating but the Naturalist helped immeasurably by knowing plants and birds and their interactions as well as traditional medicinal uses. We visited the county seat of Tuito and had a very nice lunch along the way. As it was raining part of the time, we postponed the side trip to the petroglyphs.

Absolutely excellent! Abraham was a fantastic guide. He was so knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The gardens themselves are so incredibly beautiful! The restaurant at the gardens was amazing. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting PV!
