    Leaving Vienna behind you, travel in a comfortable vehicle to the country’s best winemaking region, the Wachau Valley for a fully guided day tour. Renowned for its quality wines, stunning villages and breathtaking scenery, it is the perfect place to enjoy a day away from the city. You’ll see the whole of the Wachau Valley while learning about its fascinating culture and history and sampling local wine as well as some other delicacies like the valley’s famed local specialties. Besides the highlights, you’ll break away from the crowds to also see the more authentic and off-the-beaten-track landscapes. You also have the chance to visit the valley's oldest church, dating back to the year 987.

    Arrive in the UNESCO-listed Dürnstein – a picturesque medieval town famous for being where Richard the Lionheart was held captive in 1192. There, enjoy some free time to explore the streets and the castle ruins.

Marco was amazing! The entire day was beautiful and a great way to see outside of the city centre of Vienna. The abbey was a must see and the tour was balancing well with two wineries. Would highly recommend!

Wachau winery visit

This was the BEST tour. We had a private guide, Marco, who made the trip. He was so easy to be with all day and tailored everything to what we wanted. The wineries were beautiful and delicious! We were not able to take the boat ride on the Danube due to the recent flooding which was disappointing but we visited the Melk Abbey instead. He stopped at several small stops on the way for pictures and sightseeing. In all it was a perfect day!

This was an exceptional tour!! Our guide was very informative, kind and patient. The beauty of this region is a "must see"! It was so nice getting out of the city to beautiful vineyards! The village we visited was very cute. The river cruise was very relaxing. There are beautiful villages and scenery the boat passes by. Food and drinks can be purchased on the boat. Restrooms on the boat. Lunch earlier was at a nice restaurant on a nice property. The menu is only cold selections, but was still great, even though it was not included. Wine tasting at two places was nice as well. The tour ended in Melk with our driver taking us back to Vienna from there. We only wish the tour included touring inside The Melk Abbey. Unfortunately, it did not. This was still a wonderful tour!!
