We enjoy a variety of short walks, National Park coastal scenery & delicious local food opportunities along the way (local oysters, Pizza, ice-creams) Highlights • Explore Freycinet National Park (4+ hours) • Walk to the spectacular Wineglass Bay Lookout • Fit, keen hikers can extend the walk to the white sands of Wineglass Bay beach (2.5 hour return activity) • Alternatively, enjoy a more relaxed activity and visit the highlights of Freycinet National Park - Honeymoon Bay & Sleepy Bay • Take in the spectacular 360 degree views on the Cape Tourville Lighthouse Walk • Afternoon break at Devil's Corner Winery site enjoy a glass of wine, fresh seafood, woodfired pizza, tea, coffee or artisan gelato at the end of a glorious day.

Meeting points

Our General Meet Point is the Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre at 20 Davey Street. The pickup time is 7:25am, be ready at 7:20am. The tour returns to this same location around 6.00pm. Hotel pick up is available from select Hotels. Contact the Tour Operator directly, via email, to enquire.

Itinerary

  • Freycinet National Park

    We depart Hobart heading east then following the coastline north. We travel through the seaside towns of Orford and Swansea as we make our way to Freycinet National Park. Freycinet is one of Tasmania’s first National Parks, famous for its rich and stunning coastal landscapes. Pink Granite Mountains form the backdrop for secluded bays, pristine waters, white sandy beaches, local wildlife and amazing walking trails.

  • Wineglass Bay Lookout

    We walk as a group to the Wineglass Bay Lookout; this is a moderate uphill walk of around 45 minutes. Once at the top you are rewarded with that world – famous view of Wineglass Bay and the stunning Freycinet National Park. Enjoy the moment, take in the views, and let our guides help you with those sought after photographs. The walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout is one of the Great Short Walks of Tasmania and requires good mobility and adequate fitness. It is 1.3 km uphill, before returning downhill.

  • Wineglass Bay

    From the Lookout you have the option to return to the start of the walk with our tour guide, or for the keen hikers you can choose to spend the rest of your time completing the walk down to Wineglass Bay beach. Wineglass Bay Beach Walk – This is a 2.5 hr return walk and good fitness is required. Our tour has ample time for you to do the full walk to Wineglass Bay Beach and return. Once on the beach you can enjoy your lunch in this stunning setting, jump in the pristine waters for a swim, or wander along the white sands. This is one of the most rewarding walks in Tasmania to a stunning location.

  • Honeymoon Bay

    If you prefer to select the shorter walking option, then we return from the Lookout with our Tour Guide and explore other areas of Freycinet National Park. We Visit the beautiful Honeymoon Bay and enjoy our lunch while taking in the scenery.

  • Cape Tourville Circuit Walk

    We visit the spectacular Cape Tourville Lighthouse, and enjoy the easy grade walk, one of Tasmania's Great Short Walks, famous for its stunning views of the Freycinet Peninsula.

  • Devil's Corner Cellar Door

    We re-group ready for the return journey. Our final stop on the East Coast is the stunning Devil’s Corner Winery, where you will have time to take in the magnificent view. On site you can enjoy a wine tasting, wood fired pizza, fresh seafood and Oysters from Freycinet Marine Farm and ice creams all available at own expense on the day.

Breathtaking Freycinet/WineGlass Bay

One of the top destinations that a visitor shouldnt miss ! Had a fantastic outing and the weather was great , sunny and warm. Freycinet NP and WG bay lived up to the expectations - stunning views of the mountains, bays and sea. The hike/walk up the viewpoint can be a bit challenging but worth every step to see the vista. We had a great guide (Dan?) who had good local knowledge of the sites. Ample time was given for us to enjoy each location and to rest. Devils Corner isca great place to grab a late lunch. My partner had fresh plumb oysters and they had good wine. Great tour, only gripe was the rather rickety 20 seater coach especially at the rear end.

Freycinet national park was incredible, especially the famous Wineglass bay. It is the perfect excursion if you like hiking and are active, definitely take the walk to the beach if you have that option!

I was travelling solo in Hobart for the first time and looking for an easy way to get to Freycinet, and this tour was perfect! A small group, efficient pick-up and drop off and a lovely guide who catered to the various fitness levels and activity preferences of the group. We were blessed with awesome weather and it made the trip a real highlight of my time in Tasmania! I look forward to coming back and would definitely recommend this excursion if you are looking for a quick, hassle-free way to check out a beautiful spot.

Surprise by the whales!

The weather does not seem so good but was compesated by the informative tour guide bringing us to the Wineglass Bay look out and to the National Park. It was a bonus to us whereby we were lucky to sight some whales. It was an amazing trip for me.

Great little trip outside of Hobart, perfect for anyone that doesn't have a vehicle to get around or if you don't fancy driving. Ben was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and you can tell he loves his job !! Plenty of downtime to explore and a day full of activities.. the wineglass bay beach is an absolute must, there is a lot of steps on the way back up but it's worth every second. Beautiful views at the winery after and food to celebrate all our hard work. 10/10 would recommend
