This full day tour from Hobart has been designed to allow as much time as possible to explore Port Arthur. Formerly a convict site, Port Arthur is bursting with history and today boasts a landscape of natural beauty, scenic ruins and restored buildings.     Travel across the Tasman Bridge, into the Coal River Valley, then through the historic town of Richmond. Enjoy a short photo stop at the famous convict built Richmond Bridge

    We continue on to the breathtaking Tasman Peninsula. Be in awe of the wonderful views as we visit Pirates Bay Lookout and Tasman Arch.

  • Port Arthur Historic Site

    Join a complimentary site talk and learn about the many restored buildings including the Penitentiary, Commandant's House and the Church. Browse in the Port Arthur Gallery which includes interactive exhibits and displays. Enjoy a cruise on Carnarvon Bay around the Isle of the Dead. Enjoy a picnic lunch (bring your own) from the landscaped grounds or purchase lunch from one of the many options available in the visitors centre.

Day trip to Port Arthur

The bus trip to Port Arthur includes two activities that are optional-the harbour cruise and the visit to the Remarkable Caves (which includes over 100 hundred stairs). We were happy that we didn't do these, as there is so much to see and explore at Port Arthur itself. It is a full day, starting at 8.30am and getting back at approximately 6pm. Our driver Phil was very knowledgeable about the area and kept us entertained with jokes! :-)

We took a day trip to Port Arthur than included boat trip with Nick and Zoe whom clearly love their work and contributed to a great experience even though the sea conditions not ideal with strong winds. Phil the coach driver was very informative and helped the journey pass. No pictures of seals/ dolphins sea eagles as enjoyed seeing them without taking pictures.
