This tour was the highlight of our stay in Singapore. Our guide Gerry was knowledgeable, sharing history and pictures of the ethnic neighborhoods from years ago and now. His enthusiasm for sharing his country’s history with our group was felt by all. Thank you Gerry for such a wonderful day!

We're a family of foodies, culture and history buffs. This was the best tour we could've chosen for our one day stopover in Singapore. It was incredibly tasty and so much fun. Gerry Tan is the ultimate tour guide, very organized and personable, attentive to our needs and interests, and a walking encyclopedia of facts and history. He is passionate about helping to honor and preserve old Singaporean ways of life through tours like this. We learned so much about the evolution of this city-state with up close visits to well-known sights along with the digitized historic images he shared. Gerry also taught us how to use the metro and bus for a glimpse of everyday commuter life. What put this experience over the top was the delicious food we tasted at a Chinatown hawker stall, a Little India cafeteria, and cold treat at a Kampong Glam gelateria. We realized this was going to be a party at our 1st stop, when Gerry brought cold Tiger beer to the table to wash down plates full of dumplings, noodles and Hainanese chicken rice. Our table was again piled high at our 2nd stop with dosas, roti, meaty Tamil style curries, and refreshing lassis. We wrapped up the tour cooling off with locally flavoured gelato. We are so glad we took this tour with Gerry. It's going to to be hard to match this in any other destination.

Merry is a simply fantastic tour guide. He not only knows the food, but he knows the history of the island. Although food was the focus, he explained in detail each of the neighborhoods we visited. The food was excellent and bountiful. Definitely be hungry. A not to miss tour if you want to visit the ethnic neighborhoods and try their best food!

Our guide Gerry was fantastic. Not only getting us to off the tourist path food stops but giving us information about each community along the way. Gerry is a true host who enjoys what he does. This was our favorite day in Singapore.
