We continue exploring the jiron de la union It unites the most emblematic streets of the historic center of Lima since the founding of the city of Lima. Along the way we will be able to appreciate architectural buildings such as some large houses and commercial premises that belonged to families from the European colonies. As well as we will visit the La Merced church, which presents a Lima baroque style doorway.
We will also see the majestic Government Palace , inaugurated in 1938. It is the same space where the house of the curaca of the RÃmac valley was located; Later it would be the house of the founder of the city of kings, as well as the other viceroys and currently it is the office and residence of the president of the republic. The facade of the building was designed by the architect Malachowsky, one of the most outstanding artists of the 20th century.

We will also visit inside the wonderful Cathedral of Lima, the first construction was built by the founder Francisco Pizarro in 1540, a year later the church became a cathedral and today we can appreciate the third construction built after the earthquake of 1746. Inside this building there are a series of artistic elements from the viceroyalty period. As well as the mausoleum of the founder of the city of kings.
Continuing our adventure we will rediscover one of the architectural jewels that Lima treasures, built at the beginning of the viceroyalty period "La Casa Aliaga" . This mansion was built on the site donated by Francisco Pizarro to his friend in arms, Jerónimo de Aliaga; who would be the attorney general of Peru in 1550 for the creation of the Dean University of America founded in 1551. Inside, decorations and buildings of great historical and artistic value stand out. In addition, there is a chapel, which according to the story, was frequented by Santa Rosa de Lima, who, detained near her with her family, performed her prayers here.
