We were lucky enough to choose the Secret food tour in Amsterdam and got a great tour guide Lorina, she was fun and had a lot to say and was very knowledgeable about the food we were tasting, we tasted good local food such as pancakes at pancakes Amsterdam, delicious meat at V.O.F. Butchery T.F.M. Louman, wonderful cheeses at JWO Lekkernijen, very good Kibbeling (battered cod) and fresh herring at Vishandel Centrum Harlemmerdijk, delicious Kipsate (chicken sate) at Swieti Sranang, we also tasted Bitterballen (bar snack) and apple pie at Cafe Papeneiland and then and not least wine tasting at Quinta with a very knowledgeable and fun owner, it was a very informative trip with a great guide and fun people

Did the tour with Holly, outstanding! The food was… Dutch… but Holly filled the walk with information of daily things in the area and often with a historik twist, nicely done.

What an incredible experience we had with Secret Food Tours Amsterdam! From the moment we booked the private tour, the communication was seamless, and we felt taken care of every step of the way. Lara and Leslie were both so helpful, ensuring everything was organized perfectly for our group of eight (including our 10-month-old). Their attention to detail made the whole process stress-free and easy. Our guide, Holly, was the best! She was not only warm and engaging but also incredibly knowledgeable about the city. Her insights into Amsterdam’s culture and history really enhanced the experience. She made the food tour feel personal, sharing stories about each stop and its significance to the city’s culinary scene. It was clear that Holly was passionate about both the food and the city, which made the tour even more enjoyable. She also provided recommendations for other meals and activities in the city. The food stops were amazing and diverse, each offering something unique and delicious: Pancakes Amsterdam Westermarkt: The poffertjes here were a real treat, light and fluffy—definitely a must-try! Café Sonneveld: A hearty stop for stamppot and bitterballen. Perfectly authentic and filling, and we loved learning about this traditional Dutch dish. Quinta Absinthe: Tasting jenever and gin was a fun experience—especially when Holly gave us the lowdown on the history behind these drinks! JWO Lekkernijen: The cheese shop was a highlight. We got to sample some of the finest cheeses, and the flavors were out of this world. Swieti Sranang: The Surinamese chicken satay was a flavor explosion, and a great way to experience Amsterdam’s multicultural food scene. Café Papeneiland: Ending with a slice of legendary apple pie was the perfect conclusion to a delicious tour. It was absolutely divine! Throughout the tour, Holly kept things fun, engaging, and relaxed, making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. She was always happy to answer questions, and the pacing was perfect for our group. All in all, Secret Food Tours Amsterdam was an unforgettable experience, and we can't thank Holly enough for making it so special. If you're looking to explore Amsterdam through its incredible food scene with a friendly, knowledgeable guide, this tour is a must! Highly recommend!

My food tour with Jolanda was lovely! It was a beautiful day to wander the foodie district and try a good variety of Dutch specialties. The apple pie was to die for. I'd recommend the tour solely for the secret location of it, but the whole time was very nice. Lots of fun facts not only about food but the history and culture as well. Thanks for a great experience!
