Overview

The city of flowers is located so near of the Popocatépetl volcano, During your visit, do not miss the zócalo, an arabesque-style square, which houses the former convent of Carmen, dating from the sixteenth century, the Church of La Merced built in 1680 with an important pictorial collection, the Chapel of the Third Order, with a magnificent baroque altarpiece or the Temple and Convent of Santa Clara. Atlixco share their landscape with the Popocatépetl volcano. Atlixco is important for its climate and vegetation, this little town boasts the best climate in the country. Atlixco is such a beautiful place! The churches are incredible and of different architecture. Try the local ice cream with flavors only offered in this place.

We enjoyed a pleasant day visiting Atlixco and Atlimeyaya, tastings of ice cream and mezcal included. We visited a beautiful nursery and an incredible trout farm, some beautiful scenery along the way. Manuel was an excellent guide and well informed.

Really excellent tour, plus there happened to be a parade in Atlixco the day we booked so we were pleasantly surprised to be able to watch it for a little bit before the scheduled tour began. Pablo and Abril were great and fun guides.
