Overview

Take a private tour to two monumental UNESCO World Heritage Sites located near Beijing: the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu and Ming Tombs. We will take you to the less-crowded Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, which offers superb viewing of historical and architectural features, along with sweeping views of the surroundings. Continue to the Ming Tombs, the royal burial complex for the emperors of the Ming Dynasty, and visit either the Sacred Way, Chang Ling Tomb or Ding Ling Tomb during your tour.

Itinerary

  • Mutianyu Great Wall

    We will pick you up from your Beijing hotel, It takes 1.5 hours to the Wall from Beijing downtown. The Great Wall at Mutianyu is a little further from Beijing than the most popular section at Badaling, but it doesn't get as crowded. This section of the Wall is fully restored, there are hand rails to help you up on the very steep parts and the views are spectacular.

  • Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling)

    After the Great Wall, we will visit the Ming Tombs. There are three parts are opened to public, the Sacred Way, Changling Tomb and Dingling Tomb. The Sacred Way is the first attraction of Ming Tombs,which is a main way leading to the thirteen imperial tombs inside the scenic area. The two lines of stone lifelike sculptures (12 beasts and 6 officials) on both sides are the highlight of the Sacred Way which are quite popular with visitors. Among the Ming Tombs,Changling is the largest, earliest and most magnificent with best preserved found constructions. Dingling is the only one that the underground palace was excavated. You will visit one of them based on your interests. After finishing your trip to Great Wall and the Ming Tombs, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day tour of Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tombs Tour (Dec 2024)

We were in Beijing last week and Lily was our guide. Lily was capable in using both English and Chinese to accommodate us and our teenage son. She brought us to Mutianyu Great Wall and the Ming Tombs. She was very knowledgeable and shared interesting stories related to the sites we visited. She also taught us other parts of histories such as the Qin dynasty. Throughout the day, she was very patient and caring as well as took good care of us. We enjoyed our outing tremendously and highly recommend her services to folks coming to Beijing for tours.

Picked up at our hotel by Mr. Guo. Very attentive and good driver. He provided drinks and snacks and helped with ticket purchases etc. Highly recommend Jenny's service and Mr. Guo - thank you for your excellent service. A great day out from Beijing to the Wall and Ming Tombs.
