Overview

On our Secret Food Tour Bologna: we'll provide you with an unforgettable taste experience. We'll start with a traditional welcoming sweet. Then, we'll visit one of the oldest Salumeria of the city to learn more about the local meat products and the famous pastas. You'll enjoy: Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Mortadella di Bologna and many more regional cold cuts in the oldest Osteria in the world with a glass of our local wine. Next we have planned a taste of fresh, handmade pasta made just for us at a local Trattoria, always with a glass of local wine (and a coffee, if you like it) Then we will visit the main local food market, called Quadrilatero, and we'll enjoy a tasting of different types of balsamic vinegar from Modena (8-12-25 years of aging) to discover how this amazing tradition is still deeply rooted in this region. Please note that we are not able to offer any gluten-free or vegan option yet.

We really enjoyed our Bologna food tour with Gabrielle. He was a great tour guide and explained all of the foods and how they are made. I can't tell you how good the food is - you have to try it for yourself. Also, don't eat anything before the tour - there's lots of food and it will fill you up! This tour is well worth the money and I would do it again!

Fabulous walking food tour with Mattia. Mattia is informed and knowledgeable, and has a genuine love of food and Bologna - lots of interesting stories about food, food culture and food history, as well as culture and history of Bologna generally. He paced the tour so that my 80 year old mother did not get left behind and answered lots of her questions about recipes and cooking techniques!

This tour was one of the top experiences while traveling Europe for three weeks. Mattia provided not only a great tour, but, his passion for the foods in this region and the history made this tour unforgettable! He even provided a few of his own recipes for the food we tasted (Mattia, your rice cake recipe was a HUGE hit with my family in France. Made it three times and now my elsest granddaughter will be making it for a group of friends when she travels to Spain in a few months. They're all responsible for meal planning during this trip and this recipe will be shared. I love how this rice cake brought so much joy...not only in the making of it, but, also for the joy it brought, and will continue to bring! THANK YOU!) I traveled to Bologna specifically for this tour, as it was not, initially, one of our intended destinations. It, literally, made the extra day, and additional train travel, MORE than worth the time.
