Located on the shores of the lake, the temple is dedicated to the genius of Alessandro Volta, a native of Como. It was built in neoclassical style to celebrate the centenary of the illustrious citizen’s death. We will talk about his story too! Ticket to enter into the temple is not included (5€)

Just 900 meters away from the Monumento dei Caduti, Villa Olmo is another must-see on a Lake Como vacation. Aesthetically, this 18th-century mansion is in keeping with the style of the other villas found in Como, Cernobbio, Bellagio, etc.

Convenient and interesting way to visit Como

I purchased this tour because I wasn’t sure at what time we would get to Como (so couldn’t book a guide) but still wanted to hear the history of this beautiful city. This tour was a great find! First, I was contacted by Matteo who helped me navigate the download (it was very easy) then when we got to Como, we just started the tour based on his recommended first step. It was extremely easy to use and very informative (but not long and boring) with a lot of added stories and information. I was a bit skeptical at first but it was perfect. I would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting the ease and convenience of going at your own pace (we stopped for lunch and restarted afterwards) and wants to hear the history as well as fun facts about Como.
