The town's name is derived from the Gaelic "Port-an-Righ," which means "King's Port," reflecting its historical significance as a royal port. Today, Portree is a vibrant community with a mix of traditional charm and modern amenities.

    The Fairy Pools are a series of enchanting, crystal-clear pools and waterfalls nestled at the foot of the Cuillin Mountains, they offer ethereal beauty and magical atmosphere. We'll enjoy a walk up to these blue, green waterfalls - and if you're brave you could even take a dip! * Please be aware that during the winter months, weather conditions may mean that on occasion it is not possible to visit the Fairy Pools. When this is the case our expert driver-guides will adapt the itinerary to the conditions, allowing you to explore some of the other highlights of the Isle of Skye.

Tour guide was wonderful! More stops than expected, beautiful views, comfortable bus, just wish the mic for the tour guide was a little louder just because she was so funny and knowledgeable! Felt like we could have been satisfied with just this tour our whole trip.

Unfortunately due to the weather we were not able to visit Fairy pools because road was closed. However, Natalie made up for it by taking us to breathtaking views around Isle of Skye. She also made sure that if I needed assistance she was there to offer a hand.

Best Tour I've Ever Had!

When you book this service do hope that you're lucky enough to have Peach as your tour guide. She was absolutely amazing from the moment we set off to the moment we returned - not many people could handle the almost 12-hour journey that we took, especially with so many nonchalant deer roaming the roads of Skye! Peach was chatting animatedly the entire time, telling us wonderful stories about the folklore and personal anecdotes about all the places we saw, and I got some amazing photographs - even though I'm no expert with a camera. I'm writing a novel set of the Isle of Skye and this was my first visit - I left feeling like I've come to know the island very well! Would definitely book again - not sure if anything else I can experience in 2025 will come close!
