We were fortunate enough to do both a 1/2 day Lisbon tour and a Full day wine tour with João while we were in Lisbon. We were not sure we would enjoy Lisbon as we are more nature / island lovers, but spending time with João we fell in love with Lisbon and it's surrounding areas. First, he happily changed our schedule when the airline switched our times. Second, he is so attentive to what you are interested in and creates the tour accordingly. Third, his love and passion for his city and country really make the tour special. He showed us countless places we NEVER would have found on our own, got us away from the crowds, and made us feel like friends. His connections in Lisbon were REAL obvious when we had access to places most do not. I won't give away the secrets... book a tour to find out. He even learned enough about us to find the perfect spot for us to have dinner. Literally could not have chosen a better spot. I had an excellent day trip to visit the wineries Manzwine and Adegamae with the wonderful guide Joao Guadalpi. The wines were great, the tours were very interesting and I learned a lot about Portuguese wines. The food was also fantastic and they easily made dietary accommodations for me. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon who would like to learn more about local wine and culture.
