Overview

The Duomo Square offers a breathtaking view, especially at sunset, when the sun's rays 'light up' the polychrome marble of the buildings that form the religious complex of the city: the Baptistery, the Cathedral, and Giotto's Bell Tower. With our Certified and private guide you will have the opportunity to admire, inside the Baptistery, the stunning Byzantine mosaics of the vault while, outside, the masterpiece by Lorenzo Ghiberti, the east door of the Baptistery, commonly called 'the Gate of Paradise'. The second stage of your journey to discover the places of faith in Florence present in the square will reveal to you the towering and majestic cathedral, the Duomo, S. Maria del Fiore. The final destination of the tour will take us to the museum of "Opera del Duomo" where you will admire up close works of high value from the artistic heritage of the religious complex. If you select the corresponding option, you'll also have the chance to visit Brunelleschi's masterpiece: the Dome

The Duomo square offers a breathtaking view, especially at sunset, when the sun's rays 'light up' the polychrome marble of the buildings that form the religious complex of the city: the Baptistery, the Cathedral and Giotto's Bell Tower. In fact the chromatic homogeneity (green, white and red) beautifully harmonizes a stylistic variety.

The tour will take us to the museum of "Opera del Duomo" where you will admire up close works of high value from the artistic heritage of the religious complex; to be noted, along with others, "La Pietà" by Michelangelo. Please keep in mind that the Museum is closed on the first Tuesday of every month

Amazing Guide!

Great experience! Stephan was a great guide and was very thorough with what he showed us. He was at the meeting point waiting for us and very helpful and polite when we had to check a backpack. He knew what he was talking about and helped us see special details of the art in the Opera. Highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic tour!

The tour was absolutely fantastic! Everything was on time and nicely paced. The tour guide was very knowledgable and she gave us great lessons about history, culture and religion during the tour, which we found fascinating to learn. They arranged the tickets ahead of time, and we do not need to worry about anything just showing up, which is convenient and helpful, especially if during peak seasons. My husband and I very much appreciated the work and effort put into the design of the tour. Climbing the dome was optional but definitely worth it, to have an overview of the city.

Once we were done with the 463 steps, we got to see some incredible things. We also learned quite a lot!!

Wehad the absolute best time with Sarah M! We were running a few minutes late and she did not mind at all, she was gracious, warm and kind! My mom was in a wheelchair and she was very helpful and even met us at our hotel! Her knowledge of the Duomo was both interesting and educational! She spoke very good English and was very patient! We loved our time spent with her and it was really worth the money!

Excellent private tour and climb Duomo

Natalie was our fantastic tour guide. She met us at our hotel and gave us great history of Florence then toured the Duomo . We chose to climb to the top of Dome and it was memorable. Her knowledge of Duomo was fantastic we learned so much. Highly recommend this private tour
