Skip the entrance lines and climb to the top of Brunelleschi's Dome with an expert guide! Majestically dominating the city skyline, the terracotta dome of Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore (or Florence Duomo, as it’s more commonly known) is easily Florence's most iconic attraction. Experience this masterpiece of architectural genius. Please be aware that every 1st Tuesday of each month, the Cathedral Museum is closed and will be subsituted by a guided tour inside the Baptistry.

  • Good walking shoes required - flip flops are not allowed
  • Most catholic churches in Italy require a dress code in order to enter. For The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, you are requested to be covered from shoulders to knees (shoulders, chest, stomach and thighs must be all covered by clothing) It is permissible to wear shorts, provided that they are long enough to cover your thighs and knees. You are also permitted to wear tank tops or spaghetti strap dresses, but you will need to bring with you a garment (shawl, jacket, cardigan) that can cover all the exposed parts between your shoulders and knees when you enter the building. Thank you for your understanding and if please contact us if you require further clarification.
  • The tickets included with your tour are valid for one-time entrance to every site of the Opera del Duomo complex (Museum, Bell Tower, Baptistery, Crypt). As part of the tour, you will enter the museum, private terraces and climb to the top of the dome. These sites will not be accessible a second time with the ticket that we provide. So, for example: If you wish to visit the museum again after the tour, you will need to independently purchase a new ticket. You can use the ticket provided to enter (one time per site) the remaining location: The Bell Tower, Baptistery and Cathedral Crypt. Post-tour the skip-the-line service is no longer guaranteed. Please show your ticket to the personnel at each site and they will indicate the first time slot available for you.

VIP tour, would recommend

Great experience! Loved getting to hear all the history of the duomo and we felt like VIPs getting special access to the terrace. Brian was a great guide and offered so much knowledge about Florence and its history. A lot of steps, but they are broken up into sections going up which made it super manageable.

Well worth it, even the climb

Brilliant tour & our guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable & would highly recommend this tour. Be warned if you are a bit wobbly with heights as you climb the Duomo you go back inside the dome and it’s a glass barrier. I had a sweaty palm moment but the view of the ceiling more than made up for it. Awesome tour

Lots of steps, but worth it for the view

Our guide was excellent for this tour. I want to say her name was Veronica, but maybe that's wrong. She was passionate about the history she was showing us. The views were amazing! There are several stairs you have to climb to get up there (over 400), but it's worth it. There are several sections you can stop and take a break if needed.

Veronica was very knowledgeable- she knows the history of the Duomo as well as the art as well as the artists. We were not able to climb the tower with the group but I’m sure that would have been rewarding as well

This was a great tour. Veronica our guide was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information. She was also very accommodating to everyone in the group as we made our way up the many stairs to the dome. We highly recommend this tour with Veronica.
