  • Please note that access to the Terraces requires climbing 150 steps (no lift) through narrow passages. The height of the Terraces is 30 meters (98 feet).
  • Sandals, sleeveless shirts, and shorts or skirts above the knees are not allowed inside the Cathedral. Please bring a scarf to cover up before entering.
  • Please kindly consider that unannounced renovation work may occur during the off-season, and crowds are expected during the high season.
  • Children under the age of 7 are not allowed on the Duomo Terraces for safety reasons. Youth ages 7-18 must be accompanied by an adult to climb the Terraces.
  • The Baptistery is currently undergoing restoration of the vault's mosaics.
  • Please note that backpacks of any size, as well as luggage or large bags, are not allowed.
  • Florence can be hot in the summer. This tour includes portions that are outside and could be in full sun. Please bring a hat, a small umbrella, and sunscreen if you are sensitive to the sun.
  • Clients must arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the tour. This is due to the timed entry of the tickets.
  • It is not possible to join the tour after it has commenced.
  • Tips/gratuities (for your guide) are always appreciated.
  • This tour is not suitable for pregnant women, those with heart conditions, dizziness, or claustrophobia, as well as individuals with mobility impairments or wheelchair users.

Skip the queue was very efficient and the tour was conducted by a very knowledgeable guide whose name I think is Alesia. I finally got to fulfill my long time ambition to climb to the top of the dome and soak in the design ingenuity of the Fiippo Brunelleschi's dome and the wonders of the city.

It was a wonderful experience! Elena,our tour guide, was simply wonderful,spectacular! She gave us a history class of everything related to the Duomo,without losing the details behind the reality of Florence at the time from her perspective as a historian.She took care of all of us,particularly when climbing those 400 steps to get to the top of the Duomo.We loved it! Thank you Elena for transporting us to past centuries!For teaching us so much with so much love!
