Our tour of Florence from Livorno with Maria Clara was absolutely perfect. She gave my wife and I a thorough understanding and history of the city and showed us all of the important sights taking into consideration my walking difficulties. We had wonderful conversations with Maria Clara. This is a tour worth taking.

This was our second time using Nicola Scovenna Tours, the first being seven years ago on a family cruise when we toured Florence and Pisa. Wanting to explore new areas this time, we chose a Cinque Terre tour, and we were thrilled to find out that Diego, our previous guide, would be our driver again. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow us to visit Cinque Terre. While disappointed, we decided to go ahead, curious to see what other adventures Diego might have in store. When we met Diego at the port, it was like reuniting with an old friend; he even remembered my family and asked how they were doing. We told him to surprise us, and he suggested Lucca, a town we hadn’t visited before. Diego shared stories about Lucca, especially its incredible Renaissance-era wall, even guiding us to a spot where we could appreciate its impressive width. We immediately fell in love with the charming town. At his suggestion, we stopped for coffee and pastries, where we ended up sitting next to someone from our hometown...a fun coincidence that only added to our memorable day! Diego also arranged lunch for us at a wonderful local restaurant. When we arrived, there were plenty of open tables, but within half an hour, it was packed with locals—proof of Diego’s insider knowledge. It’s experiences like this that make choosing a local company so valuable; they truly know the hidden gems. From the first email to the day of the tour, communication was seamless. Susy kept us updated every step of the way, even informing us of the necessary change from Cinque Terre. I was initially drawn to Nicola Scovenna Tours because they allow payment after the tour, unlike others that require upfront payment. Seven years later, I was confident in their quality, and once again, they exceeded expectations. I hope to return someday and finally see Cinque Terre, and I’ll be sure to request Diego as our guide!

Nicola was an excellent driver and guide. He helped my older mother in and out of the van, took her to extra stops while we walked, and was most accommodating and knowledgeable. He also helped arrange our private tour guides in Lucca and Florence whom were excellent as well.

Maria was absolutely wonderful. She completely customized our trip to our requests but also provided important input based on her deep expertise. She also provided a lot of great info as we drove and showed us some off the beaten trail views that were stunning. We will definitely be using Nicola's service when we go back to Italy and will be requesting Maria.
