Preveli Beach

The beach of Preveli is situated 40 km south of the main town and is the most idyllic beach in Rethymno. Preveli reminds of an exotic lagoon. It is an oasis of palm trees with crystalline greenish waters and fine soft sand. The Kourtaliotis River ends at this wonderful beach, creating a delta.

The Kourtaliotiko Gorge, also known as the Asomatos Gorge , is a gorge on the southern side of the western part of the island of Crete.

The lake of Potami is shaped by the Potami dam, in Amari province and was built in 2008, 25km south of Rethymnon. The lake has a capacity of 23 million cubic meters and is one of the most important wetlands in the southeast Mediterranean, with many species of birds and animals being recorded in the area.

Amazing Tour with Andreas. Great guide. Sampled local honey, olive oil, and bread. Great viewing of lots of local spots. Photos stops were great as was the photographer Andreas! Lots of information we learned a lot about Crete and its history. Amazing walk 10 mins up and down (take sensible shoes trainers!) To a wonderful beach swam in the sea snorkeling to see some fish and clear water. (Not provided) lovely experience. Then lovely lunch wine and raki. A little off roading experience. You all change seats so not always in same position in the land rover. Food was great. Stop off in Spili sample the water from the fountains and walked up to the folk museum small and free 5 mins lovely man inside explaining more around history of artifacts and house. Really enjoyed it x

If you only do one trip while in Crete then do this, you will not regret it. Andreas our driver was amazing with his knowledge and wit. Food was excellent and I honestly cannot fault any part of the experience.

Everything about this experience was truly incredible - the scenery, food, culture and history but above all our guide (Andreas) went above and beyond to make the experience exceptional. From pick up to drop off we had so much fun. We would genuinely love to do it all over again and cannot recommend this enough! An absolutely must. THANK YOU ANDREAS!!! (Definitely worth bringing your swimming stuff and walking the 10 minutes to the beach with the palm trees and river)

Wow, what a great day and Andreas (our guide and driver) was a fantastic host for the trip, during lunch he even provided a 50th wedding anniversary cake for another couple in our group!! Would definitely rate this excursion and Andreas, for anyone wondering what to do with their time in Crete.
