I recently took a private tour in Beijing with Lisa as my guide, and it was an incredible experience overall. It was just me, Lisa, and the driver, making it feel very personalized and comfortable. We visited the Great Wall and the Forbidden City—two iconic locations that were even more breathtaking in person. Lisa was fantastic—extremely knowledgeable about Chinese history and culture, and her English was excellent, which made everything so engaging and easy to follow.
The pacing of the tour was perfect, and I never felt rushed. Lisa shared fascinating stories and details that really brought the sites to life. I also appreciated having a private driver, which made getting between locations seamless and stress-free.
The only slight downside was at the end of the tour when I was invited to an optional tea ceremony. While the tea tasting itself was very interesting and educational, it quickly became a high-pressure sales pitch for expensive tea products. I really dislike being pushed into buying things, and this part of the experience felt unnecessary and out of place after such an otherwise flawless day.
That aside, the tour itself was fantastic, and I would absolutely recommend Lisa if you’re looking for an informative and enjoyable private tour in Beijing. Just skip the tea ceremony if you prefer to avoid a sales pitch.
