These sister cities were frozen in time for almost 1700 years, destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD. Preserved in ash, Pompeii is a fine example of a commercial Roman city. Herculaneum is a quiet seaside town that was actually preserved in mud. Both cities will be brought to life by our guide's commentary through radio headsets, so you do not miss a bit of what life was like during the Roman Empire. There is also a light lunch included. To give you a skip the line service, entrance fees are included at the time of booking.

A Fascinating Tale of 2 Cities

I highly recommend this tour. Ralph, our guide, is extremely knowledgeable on the history of both Pompeii & Herculaneum. He was able to tell the stories, in such a way, that you could picture the everyday lives & unfortunate deaths of the citizens. Again, Ralph’s knowledge was superior!!

Perfect Timing and Well Organized

This tour was the perfect balance of sights, lunch, and bus. Seeing both sights with a break in between for our delicious lunch with rest periods on the bus was well timed and guided by Raffaele. Our driver is a champion who can navigate between the most narrow roads lined with scooters cars and cliffs. The sights are remarkable and our guide, very knowledgeable.

The day was full and memorable. Our guide was knowledgeable and easily explained all the sights and kept the group, which was quite large, moving through each area of interest at a comfortable pace. Light lunch was not so light and very enjoyable. A great way to see two major sites in one day.

Raphael was knowledgeable and gave interesting insights on both sights. The bus was comfortable. Did not expect to take a detour up into the highest mountain roads to drop people off at remote hotels on the way home.
