We will also provide you with a bottle of water, Proceeding to give you an overview of what we'll encounter on the tour. We will explain the story behind the Monumento Blas de Lezo. It is a tribute to one of the most celebrated naval commanders in Spanish history, Admiral Blas de Lezo y Olavarrieta, known for his strategic prowess and resilience. Located in a prominent position in front of the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas in Cartagena de Indias, this monument honors the man who played a pivotal role in the defense of the city against the British in the Battle of Cartagena de Indias in 1741, one of the most significant battles during the War of Jenkins' Ear.
