Overview

Relax aboard our comfortable 60ft catamaran, cruise through the pristine waters of the Great Sandy Straits Marine Park and landing on K'gari. With 4 hours to swim, stroll, paddle, relax.... The tour passes by or stops at Pelican Bank, a white sand cay often inhabited by roosting sea birds and stately pelicans. K'Gari western beaches offer beautiful scenery that its not reachable other than by water or a very long and difficult 4WD! We anchor close to a beautiful tree-fringed beach and deploy our inflatable swimming pool and launch our motor boat and paddleboards. Choose to sunbathe onboard or on the beach or have a swim in the crystal clear warm waters of Platypus Bay or our inflatable swimming pool. Try out the paddleboards and even have a ride on our inflatable tow tube. Our air-conditioned saloon is a comfortable place to escape the sun, eat your picnic and relax with a glass of bubbles, an espresso, soft drink or beer purchased from our licensed bar.

Meeting points

The Great Sandy Straits Marina is located on Buccaneer Drive, Urangan between the Mantra and Breakfree hotels. Walk though the Marina building past the shops and turn left at Cafe Baleana. Walk down the pedestrian ramp and Freedom is berthed on the right hand side of the walkway.

Itinerary

Board Freedom at 10am ready for the 10.30am departure. We cruise through the Great Sandy Strait Marine Park, home to resident dolphins, dugong, fringing reef and turtle habitats. Listen to interesting commentary and look out for the sea birds and stately pelicans on Pelican Bank. We anchor in a sheltered spot very close to the pristine western beaches of K'Gari, Woody Island or Pelican Banks. Our experienced and friendly crew will deploy our swimming pool (which is stinger proof), the motor boat and tube ride and the paddleboards for guests to use. Guests have approximately 4 hours of free time and are welcome to stroll and relax on the K'gari beach, swim in the crystal clear waters or cool off in the air conditioned saloon onboard. If conditions allow, we will offer tow tube rides which are a lot of fun - choose to go fast or slow! Bring your own lunch and snacks and enjoy a glass of bubbles, a soda or beer purchased from the well-stocked licensed bar. We recommend each guest brings a swimming costumes, towels, camera, sun-protection and snorkels. We have three showers and toilets on board and plenty of private space to change in. The perfect daydream cruise!
