Longqing Gorge

The scenic spot is famous for its gorge. Visitors compare the scenery of the gorge to the Three Gorges of theYangtze River, but its mountains are much steeper than those along the Yangtze. The scenery also resembles the Li River in Guilin, but the water here is much clearer. Getting down from the dam, you have to enjoy the river and hills by cruise. Every turn around a hill in the river will surprise you because of the new view. Along the river you will see the heavily forested steep cliffs and the bare limestone in different fantastic shapes, eroded by the natural power of water. To some extent, it is much like Li River. Many of these rocks and hills have their own names, such as: Comb Hill, Immortal Taoist Temple, Flowers Cave and Jingang Temple

Guyaju Caves

It will take about 30 minutes riding form Longqing gorge to Guyaju Caves in the west of Yanqing County. it is the largest site of an ancient cliff residence community in China. There are 117 caves in total, forming a cell-like spectacle on the cliff.

Super tour

What a fantastic tour to the Longqing Gorge and Guyaju caves! April was a brilliant tour guide who looked after my family very well. She was so informative about the sites that we visited and about Chinese culture. Both sites were beautiful and a lovely change from the city. For lunch we stopped off at a local restaurant and ate delicious local food, which April explained everything we were eating. The driver was superb too and I felt safe at all times driving to the sites. Thank you for a brilliant tour, and I will be sure to go on another tour with April when I'm next in Beijing. Thank you.

Outstanding Tour

This is our THIRD attempt at trying to submit this review. We visited the Longqing Gorge and Guyaju Caves and our guide was April. She was an outstanding guide who was very enthusiastic and amazingly informative. She answered our questions clearly. Her English was excellent and she had a very happy disposition. We would strongly recommend her as a guide. Our driver, Mr Wang, who spoke no English had a great sense of humour and was an excellent driver. We felt very safe in his capable hands. The caves were fascinating but a certain level of fitness is required. The gorge was spectacular and well worth a visit. We booked our tour through Leo's Private Tour though Viator (Tripadvisor) THANK YOU April so much for a most unforgetable day. John, Victoria and Rowena
