  • Pickups in Calheta, Ponta do Sol, Ribeira Brava, São Vicente, Santana, Porto Moniz and North Machico
  • Monday- Breakfast is NOT included but the Tour has a much Lower Cost
  • Levada walk is NOT included in the option without breakfast

Overview

(Tuesday to Sunday) - After the hotel pick up ( around 5:30 AM) we drive you to Pico do Arieiro where we will enjoy the Sunrise around 7 AM. This is the highest viewpoint of the island at 1818 metres of altitude. See the sunrise while enjoying a hot cup of coffee/tea, a luxury only our clients will have as there are no coffee places open at that time. You can choose a few varieties of coffee, as we have sugar and milk on the side, and we have 3 varieties of tea. You can enjoy all of this as it is included in our price (Tuesday to Sunday) We have sandwiches , homemade cake, biscuits, water, orange juice, fruit jam, cheese, ham, in a buffet style breakfast. After all of this we go back to the area of Camacha and go for a lovely levada walk(available Tuesday to Saturday) in the Paradise Valley area, it should take you about 40 minutes to complete. If the weather/visibility conditions are not good enough to see the sunrise in Pico do Arieiro we change the sunrise spot to another area.

Nice experience

Very nice experience. The driver arrived on time and was very helpful. The light snacks breakfast is a really nice touch. Please dress warm ( a winter coat) as it gets really cold up there in the mountains.

Madiera Sunrise Tour

We went with Jorge who was amazing! He took us to where the best view was and gave us great instructions on when and where he’d meet us. Jorge provided a good breakfast coffee and tea after the sunrise and then took us to Paradise Valley for a beautiful walk. I recommend this 100%.

It was a great experience. George, our guide and driver was very friendly,kind, humorous and very knowledgeable. Besides being a good driver he was entertaining. We drove up to Pico and saw a spectacular sunrise followed by a delicious breakfast catered by George. Then we had a nice relaxing walk through Paradise valley (about 50 minutes) After 5 hours we were back at our hotel. I would highly recommend the tour and hopefully you will be lucky to have George as your guide.

We had an excellent driver who picked us up very early for the sunrise. It was a cold morning and he brought extra blankets for us. I would suggest wearing warm clothes as it is cold and windy early in the morning, and bringing a head lamp or flash light so you can see in the dark. It was very cloudy the day we want so we did not get a full sunrise as we had hopefuls but I enjoyed the surroundings and being with other people on the top of the mountain in such epic scenery. After sunrise we had breakfast, and enjoyed hot coffee and tea followed by a pretty stroll on a flat levada.
