Itinerary

  • My Tho

    Depart at 8AM from the starting point (Kim Travel office) and head to the Mekong Delta by minivan or bus. It takes you around 2 hours to My Tho. You'll arrive in My Tho at approximately 10:00 AM and then ride on a local motorboat through Dragon Island, Phoenix Island, and Turtle Island. Then stop at the famous Unicorn Island to visit a natural beekeeping farm, and taste honey wine, rice wine, and banana wine. Then take a walk through the village and row along the coconut canal to learn more about the traditional rural lifestyle of the Mekong Delta inhabitants. Continue your motor boat trip to Ben Tre province to visit a handmade coconut candy workshop. Then transfer to a small motor boat and travel along the lush, green canals, stopping at local Vietnamese restaurant for some traditional food. Later on, enjoy various types of tropical fruits at the orchard garden and listen to traditional music. At the end of the tour, a local boat will take you back to My Tho. From there a bus will drive you back to Ho Chi Minh city, arriving at around 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM.

The Guide Lu has very good knowledge of the Mekong delta and its culture, interesting to listen to and engage with. The trip was well organized and very well planned. Would highly recommend.

Would highly recommend this tour! We had a lot of fun, tasted good food and experienced Mekong Delta by car, tuk tuk and boats. Tam was the funniest tour guide with many interesting stories to tell.

My partner and I took this tour with our guide, Lư tuấn Nghĩa on 30 Dec 2024. We were collected on time from our hotel and had a pleasant journey to the Mekong River. The whole thing ran very efficiently to schedule. During the journey, Lu told us a lot of interesting stories and facts about the Mekong and Vietnam in general. We learned a lot. He was a fantastic guide and took many photos for us using his phone and then sent them all to use during the tour. He also sent us lots of extra information on WhatsApp about the fruits and plants we saw during the day. The tour included many different and interesting stops, as well as different boat journeys (with a bigger boat at first and then smaller rowing boats). The lunch was very big and varied and we later had a coconut to drink and some local fruits while listening to traditional music. The Mekong River trip was very good value for money although I wouldn't recommend paying extra for a small group (<9) tour, as our tour with 12 people was very comfortable and there was enough space and time to do everything in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Kim Travel were excellent travel agents and we would recommend them for different types of tours.
