Had a great time with Yibram and Daniela today. CDMX is very bike friendly, and they always run the tour with two (Yibram in front and Daniela bringing up the back and holding traffic when necessary). We covered a lot of territory while taking in the scenery, which is one of the advantages of a bike tour vs a vehicle.
My tour was on a Sunday, so the streets were calm and we got to enjoy the large avenues that get blocked off to traffic on Sundays. and we got the full Mexico City experience when there was a giant parade jamming up the streets of the Historic Center. Our group was all experienced riders, but I suspect he would have adjusted course for less confident cyclists.
At the end they gave (and messaged!) us many great recommendations for food.
The bikes were a road/mountain bike hybrid where you lean forward substantially, which could be an issue for bad backs, but were good for the lumps and bumps of the road. The tour is relatively new, and they are clearly always looking to improve! I really enjoyed supporting this local couple who are enthusiastic about sharing their city with the world.
