Our guide Justin was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and very fun. Got us a ton of new species for our bird list and stayed late with us to help us see the quetzal.

What to see a lot of birds?

What to see birds? I mean a lot of birds. Even if it’s misty, foggy or raining? How about over 30 different species of birds in two hours. That’s about the number we saw. Want to see more, do this tour in a different month and not only will you see a lot of birds but totally different ones. A truly enjoyable tour with a wonderful guide. Either use the guides spotting scope and take photos of bring the big glass - 500mm lens or longer. And it better be fast, you are in a cloud forest. Enjoy

Exceptional!

This tour was exceptional in the number and quality of bird sightings we were able to make! They included over 50 species many of which we were able to see up close in our guide's scope. Our guide shared detailed information about the birds we saw. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and professional, helping us take breathtaking photos through his scope. It's important that people know that this tour does not take you to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve in spite of the advertised title "Monteverde reserve Birding tour with Esteban daily guided tours". Our guide was also not Esteban but Dernierth. Instead of the Monteverde reserve, we walked around Monteverde roadsides and then went to the Curi Cancha reserve. I believe this offered a superior birding experience (but I had bought tickets ahead of time to the Monteverde reserve thinking that we were heading there, so don't buy entrance tickets ahead of time if you book this tour!).

Expectational experience seeing beautiful birds in Costa Rica with Esteban

No doubt bird watching with Esteban and his team was the highlight of our Costa Rica Trip. Esteban was very knowledgeable and kind. He was able to guide us to see many varieties of Costa Rican birds including Resplendent Quetzals, which we would not have seen if we went birding by ourselves. His prices were very reasonable, nearly 1/4th of the price what my hotel offered. I would highly recommend Esteban to anyone visiting Montverde or surrounding areas of Costa Rica.
