Rishi was amazing and took us too a bunch of places that were rich in culture and also provided delicious Mumbai street food. We did not get sick at all. The flavors of Mumbai street food are far superior to the flavors you find in the restaurants and this is the best and safest way to try them!

Reality Gives is more than just a tour company, 80% of their proceeds go directly to providing education & trading in the Dharavi community. We landed in the morning & joined the street food tour the same night. Our guide Rishi met us & the rest of the group at Churchgate train station & guided us through our first experience of using the trains in Mumbai. We firstly went to the beach for sunset & ate what seemed like endless really tasty dishes in an amazing environment. Rishi was attentive to the whole group, explaining the foods, talking about the area & the culture & ensuring that everyone in the group had something they wanted to eat- he fetched more sweet items for the teens to match their tastes whilst allowing them to sample all of the food. He then guided us through some very busy areas, looking after the whole group & making us feel welcome & safe, explaining everything as we went along. We visited a restaurant for more food & drinks, tasting a different style of food, then we moved to the really busy Muslim area & to the charcoal grills & finally the dessert shops. The food was all incredible & doing this trip at the start of our week in Mumbai gave us the confidence to use the trains ourselves & to return to some of the areas for food later in the week- we went to the beach for sunset & pav bhaji twice more it was so good! There are other tours which look similar, but for value & cleanliness of everywhere we visited this was definitely a great choice. Reality Gives is a great organisation & chatting about the work they do was really interesting. It’s a fantastic opportunity to give something back whilst on holiday. Lots of delicious food! Rishi was superb, answering all our questions and there was no rush at all just a relaxed few hours seeing more of the city than we had already and tasting good authentic food. We enjoyed the train ride to the beach as we wouldn’t have experienced this otherwise. Tried some lovely street food (you don’t need to worry about cleanliness these vendors are cleaner than some of the restaurants) then went to the market. Aside from the food, this tour showed us what, I feel, is the real Mumbai - crazy, frantic, exciting, vibrant, and gave us the confidence to navigate it ourselves the next day. Don’t stay in Colaba, it’s for the tourists, get to the markets and see real life in Mumbai! We really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it. There is a lot of food so pace yourselves!

Rushi was superb and looked after us well. He took us to the beach to try the street food there to start with and nothing was rushed. We then went to the market which, I felt, gave us a fantastic insight into the real Mumbai that I feel Colaba doesn’t have. We had an authentic experience which we both enjoyed more than the touristy places. Great food along the way. There will be a lot of food so pace yourself!

Rishi was an unbelievable guide. He was kind, honest, and open and was so knowledgable about the food and the sites we went to see. I had such a great experience on this tour and could not recommend it enough! 10/10
