An awesome trek in Munnar

Me and my son trekked to the top of Letchmi hills on Aug 20 amidst misty afternoon that soon turned into light rain showers. It is a moderately difficult climb specially in rains. It took us almost 2.5 hours. Our guide Praveen from Pugmark Adventures was calm and patient. He helped me through the patches of slippery steep climb and also introduced us to local flora and fauna. It is a must do on our list when we are in Munnar next.

Amazing Trek. We were a group of 4 friends. Our guide - Pradeep was very patient and informative. He made the experience extra special - full of learnings. The trek is very peaceful and mesmerising. The hospitality of the tour agent - providing fruits and water on hill top is appreciated. The trek is an easy to moderate trek and apt for everyone with average fitness levels. It covers tea plantations, greenlands, and panoramic view on hill top. Good for nature lovers.

We had an incredible time and recommend this tour for anyone who is wanting to soak in the beautiful views and learn a bit of the history of Munnar. Our tour was a wonderful mix of trekking through the dreamy landscapes of the tea plantations, exploring the rainforest filled with all senses of nature and walking up peaks to see the spectacular views from the mountains. It was a great walk that can be managed by all levels. Our guide, Ravindrakumar (Mathi), was fantastic! Mathi was very knowledgeable and provided lots of insight about the history of Munnar and the tea plantations, as well as more information about the various fruits, plants and animals on our trek. Mathi was so friendly, provided some delicious snacks and we stopped to enjoy a delicious cardamom tea on our trek which is highly recommended!

Mr. Ravindra Kumar is an experienced trekker. He knows all the ways to the different peaks in Lakshmi estate of Kannan Devan Hills. Depending on your experience in trekking, he suggests the optimal route and duration. He knows all the flora in the land and even clears the poisonous ones in the way. He doesn’t rush anyone and shares interesting anecdotes related to the geography and history of the place. He even goes out of his way to pluck fruits from trees for you to taste. He is super fit and keeps safety as the first priority. I have saved his number for my future visits.
