From start to finish NZone makes you feel very comfortable about your entire experience. Checked in at their shop on Shotout St. in Queenstown, did a briefing and then loaded onto the shuttle bus to get to the drop zone.
Bus ride took about 20 min. Upon arrival you’ll go inside and get assigned a group number. Then you can just hang around, use the restrooms, grab a coffee or shop some merch until your number is called.
Once called you’ll head into the hanger/garage bay where you’ll be fitted with a jumpsuit, helmet, life jacket, and harness. If you’re jumping 15,000ft you’ll also be given an oxygen mask.
Next you’ll meet your jump instructor. All of them are really cool, make you feel calm and excited. They’ll do some videos with you on the ground before you get into the plane and along the way.
You’ll do one more safety briefing about becoming a banana and when you’re allowed to let go of your harness during your free fall.
Next up is getting on the plane. You’ll slide in on the two benches depending on the height of your jump. Higher altitudes will load first followed by the lower altitudes. Then it’s take off time.
It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to jump height. The lowers jump first, then the plane climbs higher for the others. When it’s your turn your instructor will slide you towards the door, make sure you’re in proper position and then you’re off!
The thrill of falling is incredible at these heights. Your instructor will get you leveled out and then let you put your hands out all while filming you.
Your free fall comes to an end when the parachute comes out and you’ll enjoy a nice glide down for about 4-5 minutes.
For your landing, just lift your legs and feet and you’ll come to a gentle slide on the grass.
Everyone who works for NZone is so nice; happy to answer any of your questions and make you feel comfortable.
I would do this again 100% and would do it with NZone. Cheers!
