Overview

A return scenic cruise from Queenstown Bay, across stunning Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm on our vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw, a farm demonstration and a delicious BBQ Lunch served on the sunny terrace at the Colonel’s Homestead. The rural demonstrator will give guests an insight into life in the New Zealand high country by providing an entertaining farm show including working sheep dogs. Enjoy a unique dining experience at Walter Peak where the menu showcases food and wine from the wider Central Otago region. Chefs prepare a tasty selection of meats on the outdoor grill, while fresh, seasonal salads and vegetables are available from the dining area of the Colonel’s Homestead. Top off lunch with a selection of delicious sweet treats and local cheeses. Please be sure to arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time to check in.

Please arrive 30 minutes before departure and queue directly outside the TSS Earnslaw, you will be checked in by name. (You are not required to check in at the office prior to this time)

Earnshaw Steamer

We had a lovely trip on the Earnshaw Steamer. The BBQ lunch was excellant, the choice and quality of food was outstanding. The staff we're lovely, friendly and helpful. My only negative is i would have liked a bit longer before reboarding the steamer for our return journey.

Amazingly delicious fresh buffet lunch after a delightful cruise from Queenstown. I’m not usually a buffet person, however, the lunch at Walter Peak High Country Farm was well presented with fresh salads, freshly cooked vegetables and a delicious variety of BBQ meats and fish. The desserts were to die for! The service was well organised and unrushed giving us time to order drinks and enjoy the stunning lakeside-mountain views.

The whole experience was amazing. The lake and mountains are just picture perfect. The crew were friendly and efficient. The Engine room crew were amazing. They were friendly and explained the whole whole steam process. You could see the pride they had a in what they did. What a wonderful experience. Our trip is what memories are made of. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime. I hope the steam ship experience will continue for many more years so that as many people as possible can enjoy something which is a lifetime opportunity.
