Start your tour at Fushimi Inari Taisha, the head shrine of over 30,000 Inari shrines in Japan. Spend an hour exploring this iconic site, known for its thousands of striking vermilion torii gates. Originally dedicated to the gods of agriculture, Fushimi Inari is not just a spiritual center but also a symbol of breathtaking beauty and cultural significance.

At Kiyomizu-dera, one of the most iconic temples in Japan, walk across the impressive wooden stage, which juts out from the hillside and was constructed without the use of a single nail. The temple boasts a wide view overlooking Kyoto and the beautiful surrounding nature. You can also drink from one of the three rejuvenating streams of Otowa Waterfall, said to bring success, love, and longevity.

Next, stop at Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion, whose gold-leaf-covered exterior glimmers in the sunlight. Once a villa for Ashikaga Shogun Yoshimitsu, it was transformed into a temple after his demise and rebuilt in 1955. Wander through the immaculate gardens surrounding the temple, admiring the original Japanese designs that have been preserved since the time of the Ashikaga shogunate.

Arashiyama
Conclude your journey in Arashiyama, a must-see in Western Kyoto. Famous for its cherry blossoms in April and fall foliage in November, Arashiyama is also home the Sagano Bamboo forest, which has been a popular nature-viewing destination since the Heian Period.
Listen to the distinct rustle of bamboo leaves as you walk through the vibrant green bamboo path. You can also see the "moon-crossing bridge," Togetsukyo, as you walk along the beautiful Katsura River.
