Linda, our tour guide, wanhis a most welcoming host to Beijing and China, especially in the confusing flurry of travel schedules, visas, and documents. We only had a 6 hour window during our transit to get a glimpse of Beijing, and Linda helped us make the most of it. This would be our one and only time to see China (and my original family roots). Her English was very understandable, her comprehension of the questions that we asked was very evident, and she knew most of the answers. She gave us little facts about the architecture of the Forbidden City that gave is insight to what it was like in Imperial China. She also answered personal questions about life in present-day China. As it was a cold, breezy day, she even helped to keep me warm by insisting on wrapping me up in her own scarf. The transport to and from the hotel also eased our minds, since we could leave our carry-ons with the driver. Everyone in our family was quite impressed with her skills. Afterwards, she gave us a little foodie tour of her personal favorites, which in and of itself was a highlight. If you have a layover in Beijing, this tour is well worth every penny, and this company is very lucky to have a guide such as Linda representing it.
