Overview

Explore Madeira’s traditional wicker sledge basket sledges on this tuk-tuk ride. The baskets express tuk-tuk ride will start in Funchal city, and end at the “Carreiros do Monte”. Starting at the Old Town, where the project of the “painted doors” is displayed and ready to be discovered and seen. This project is shown throughout the streets of Santa Maria, where numerous doors were painted by different artists giving this street a much-needed glow. This area is also known for its amazing Poncha drink, a local drink made of rum, lemon, and honey. Rua de Santa Maria is one of the oldest streets of the city of Funchal, filled with picturesque details, such as the cobblestone floors, and the façades of the old houses. Then the journey will continue towards Monte, revealing the main attraction, Monte´s church. After having the opportunity to see this beautifully made structure, the expert driver storyteller that will conduct this tuk-tuk ride will take show the famous toboggans.

Laura our driver/guide was fantastic. Provided us with lots of information about the island. The toboggan run was something different and a great experience. Would recommend booking with viator. Excellent service and communication.

Great Time Despite the Rain!

Rui and Andre were fantastic. Unfortunately we did not get to do the sledding due to rain, these two gave us a great experience and tried to show us parts of Funchal that we had not already seen. It was an adventure that was fun despite being wet.

Tuk Tuk picked us up on time at the cruise ship and Luis was wonderful. He took us up to the toboggan run early so there was no line. We then had a great tour of the town. Was a great way to spend our day. No crowds and no lines.
