Itinerary

Welcome! Our staff will kindly welcome you with a courtesy drink upon arrival at the marina located in the La Casa China Bacalar hotel facilities. There you will receive all the information and equipment necessary for your 3-hour sailing adventure. Ahoy! We set sail from the dock and observe the Cenote Esmeralda; the largest of the entire lagoon as we move towards the Sanctuary of Stromatolites, sediments of ancestral organisms 10,000 years old. Your next stop is the famous Pirate Canal where the shallow and warm waters create an unforgettable setting. Here you will have the chance to swim and explore the area while we prepare a delicious fruit picnic. Can you imagine the battles against pirates who tried to loot the area almost 400 years ago? You will enter the Black Cenote, known locally as the Cenote of the Witch, a place full of fantasy and mystery. Its depth exceeds 100 meters so you will be able to appreciate a color change in the water. From this site you will understand why it is known as the Lagoon of the 7 Colors. The last stop before returning to the pier is Bird Island, a place where you can breathe peace and composure among the symphony of birds. Depending on the season you will be able to appreciate the flight of migratory species while you immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters. When you return to the dock, you can continue enjoying the heveanlyl lagoon by kayak until sunset.

Bacalar Lagoon - Private Sailboat

Our boat tour at Bacalar Lagoon was absolutely incredible! We had the chance to visit three stunning cenotes, swim in the famous Pirates’ Canal, and enjoy the serene beauty of Bird Island. Each stop offered something unique, from the vibrant turquoise waters to the peaceful natural surroundings. Our guides, David and Abraham, were exceptional throughout the tour. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and natural beauty of Bacalar. They made the experience engaging and fun, while also ensuring everyone felt safe and comfortable. Swimming in the Pirates’ Canal was a highlight—it was refreshing and such a unique experience! Bird Island was equally magical, with so many different species to observe. The entire tour was well-organized and perfectly timed to soak in the beauty of this breathtaking location. My wife and I capped a Bacalar getaway with an incredible private sailboat tour of the lagoon with Captain Abram and Nammi Sparrow. The crew’s sailing expertise was evident throughout the trip, making my wife and me feel safe and comfortable. Captain Abram and Nammi Spareow navigated the lagoon’s stunning waters with ease and provided detailed explanations about the area’s history, natural wonders, and the unique hues of the lagoon at each stop on the tour. Nammi’s passion for the environment and knowledge of Bacalar’s ecosystem made the experience both educational and relaxing. It was the perfect way to explore the lagoon. I cannot recommend this tour higher for anyone visiting Bacalar, Mexico!
