Overview

Embark on an extraordinary journey through the Silver Circle! We kick off with a scenic drive into the majestic Hvalfjördur, a sprawling 30-kilometer fjord brimming with nature's wonders and captivating history. The drive from Reykjavik to the fjord takes about 1 hour. Once we get to the fjord, we will drive along it making a few stops for pictures. After another 1 hour drive, we will reach Deildartunguhver, one of Europe's largest hot spring, located right next to Krauma spa, where you can opt to take a relaxing bath. We then head to Reykholt, an ancient town steeped in medieval Icelandic manuscript studies. Another short drive will take us to the spellbinding Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. We then drive for about 1 hour to the town of Borgarnes, with its interesting Settlement Museum, revealing the tales of Iceland's first Viking settlers. Another similar drive will then take us back to Reykjavik.

    The Whale Fjord, a place rich in natural beauty and history, is a beautiful are to drive around. We will drive around the fjord making a few picture stops on our way to the west of Iceland.

  • Deildartunguhver Thermal Spring

    One of Europe's most powerful hot springs. The naturally hot water coming from this big spring is used to heat up two towns in Iceland up to 64 km (39 mi) away.

  • Krauma

    A fantastic spa heated up with the water of the nearby hot spring. This is a great place to relax in the hot tubs, if you wish, or just get a coffee overlooking the surrounding landscapes.

  • Reykholt

    A historical village, where one of Iceland's most famous medieval writers lived. Today there is a center where historians study old Icelandic manuscripts and a lovely old church.

  • Hraunfossar

    This is a unique and spectacular waterfall, called the lava waterfalls. Admire water streaming out of a lava field as you walk to the viewing platforms that have been built for you to enjoy this natural wonder.

  • Barnafoss

    Right next to the lava waterfalls, another mesmerizing waterfall, the Children Waterfall, awaits. You will be able to admire the waterfall and learn about the tragic events that happened here.
