I’m not a regular hiker but when I heard 5000m I understood it wasn’t a joke.
PLEASE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!
I realised that many agencies organising the tours do not tell you how to prepare or what to take. Normally I would say: use your common sense, but after seeing 2 adults on our tour wearing outfits that were only lacking high heels, I’d say: stay at home! (The 2 adults ended up on horses after 10 min walking).
Think of Comfortable hiking shoes, warm clothing (layers preferably), water, snacks (chocolate) and coca leaves (essential for me, helped me with my breathing high up where you take 2 steps and need to inhale deeply).
If you don’t enjoy hiking (like my husband), you won’t enjoy this tour. I loved it although it was demanding because of the height. The views are breathtaking and so is the height. My husband only enjoyed going back down.
