The Kanheri Caves in the centre of the park were an important Buddhist learning centre and pilgrimage site sculpted by Buddhist monks between the 9th and the 1st centuries BCE. They were chiselled out of a massive basaltic rock outcropping.

Trimurti Temple In the forest, there is a famous Jain temple called Trimurti (meaning "three idols") or Trimurti Digambar Jain Mandir. This temple is widely visited by Digambar sect of the Jain community. It has three huge idols of Lord Adinath and his two sons, Lord Bahubali and Lord Bharata.

Great experience provided by Young Tours & Travel. Hotel pickup by Aadil who is a brilliant guide. And then at the Park itself we were met by Kishor who is really knowledgeable about the history of the caves, providing great information about the caves and temple. The safari was short but sweet seeing the animals. I’d recommend.

I just had an amazing tour of SGNP. My guides were Kishor and Aadil and both were professional and courteous and performed their jobs in an excellent manner. My driver was Prabhakar and he navigated the chaotic Mumbai traffic flawlessly ! An incredible and interesting experience !
