Just 45 minutes from Cairns by Great Adventures fast catamaran, Green Island is a 6000 year old coral cay and home of the amazing underwater walking experience, Seawalker Green Island. It's an ideal activity for non-swimmers wanting to experience the reef underwater as you walk on the island's seafloor surrounded by colourful tropical fish & coral at a specially selected site, minutes offshore. It’s safe and fully supervised by professional underwater guides. Your head and hair stay dry and you can even wear glasses! Completing your day, the Green Island Eco Adventure includes the choice of a glass bottom boat tour or use of snorkelling equipment. After you've worked up an appetite, the day visitor facilities feature a pool bar, restaurant and refreshments for a range of affordable meal and snack options.

  • The minimum age for Seawalker is 12 years. Certain medical conditions and medications may preclude some people from participating.
  • All participants are required to complete a medical questionnaire.
  • After a single helmet dive, a wait of 12 hours is recommended before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater.
  • Due to safety procedures you will be unable to take a camera underwater with you however a professional photographer will take your photos and these will be available to purchase

Seawalker experience at Green Island

Spent entire day on Green Island. Did the sea walker helmet experience and it was amazing. They take pics and video that you can pay for after. Totally worth it. Snorkeled the rest of the day but there's so many amazing things to do

Our experience was truly unforgettable, particularly thanks to the caring and attentive crew who guided us every step of the way. Since my husband and I can't swim, the seawalker adventure allowed us to explore the stunning coral reef without any worry. I highly recommend this experience for non-swimmers looking to enjoy the underwater beauty!

Was excellent, well looked after from the crew. Seen lots of fish big and small around the coral. Could not use my under water camera ,had to buy the professional photos. We did not mind this $80 each, this gives all photos and video on USB. Highly recommend.

One of the best experiences we have ever had. Totally enjoyed walking on the ocean floor with fish above us. Entire your was well organized and staff were friendly, helpful and nice to be with. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

This was a very cool experience. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. They took your photo under water too. My only complaint (and this is just nature) is that it was hard to see things under water. Like there was a turtle 3-4 feet away from me that the guide pointed out but I couldn’t see it - it just wasn’t very clear down there (about 25 feet down). Again, this is not anyone’s fault, but something I wish I knew beforehand so I could adjust my expectations.
