An experience of awe. The plane trip over was breathtaking, even though there was cloud cover. The cruise was stunning. The staff were really friendly, the lunch was delicious and the scenery was gorgeous. As it was a lovely day we’re got to go out to sea. The tour of Sarah Island was a highlight. Our guide was funny and yet conveyed the cruelty the convicts endured. I had wanted to do the trip for many years. It lived up to all my expectations.

I am very impressed by many of factors on this tour: 1. How smooth flights even on the raining conditions – reflected how professional, highly trained and knowledgeable pilots 2. The Big windows on different type of fleets which allows every one to have a good view or photography 3. Premier Upper Deck seating area on Gordon River Cruise - I had wonderful cruising and good dining experience, with angled leather recliners and floor to ceiling windows, a private viewing deck, a gourmet lunch of local delicacies and an open bar for my entire cruising duration 4. Very professional. dedicated guides and character-based interpretations who have a good sense of humor that's made my day! Highly recommended!! If you are looking for an once-in-a-lifetime experiences like me, in one of the last expanses of temperate wilderness in the world, and want to make the most of your holiday but only have limited holiday time, you must add this Tasmania's wild west on your bucket-list and travel with Par Avion on their Strahan Day Trip by Air from Hobart Including a Gordon River Cruise!!

Flight from Cambridge airport was amazing with a good view of the mountain ranges which set a great context for the area around the Gordon River. Friendly pick up to board our cruise and a delightful day on the water. Food and pampering from engaging staff added to the experience. Having seen the protests to stop the damming of the Franklin River, being there made me wonder how it could have ever been considered. Thank goodness it was saved and this unique place has been preserved. Took so many photographs as it was just so beautiful. The tour of Sarah Island was enhanced by the humour and knowledge of our guide. Definitely would recommend people doing this trip.

Flying over the Central Plateau mountains lightly capped with snow was breath-taking. The river cruise was relaxing and informative and the guided tour of Sarah Island was the best part of the whole experience. Kiah, the guide, made the history come alive. The friendly crew looked after the guests superbly - great selection of beverages, the buffet lunch was delicious and the use of audio visuals to inform guests about the area was excellent. Thanks pilot Dane and Par Avion for offering another wonderful experience.

We were picked up from our accommodation and driven to the airport where we were met by our friendly pilot. After a quick trip from Hobart to Strahan we were then driven to meet up with the Gordon River Cruise. What a fabulous trip! Lots of information about the area, stopping off for a walk through a section of the National Park and a tour of Sarah Island. Great food and lovely staff.
