Overview

When we think about the history of Spain, Toledo stands in an inevitable position. One of the three cultures' cities eventually became Greco's hometown; the city of Europe's most recent Gothic Cathedral is one of a kind and well worth a visit. This is the plan: we will go inside the Cathedral; St. Tomé; St. María la Blanca and St. Juan de los Reyes and, between this monuments, our guide will provide a walking tour about the city itself. However, the greatest question is: what kind of visit? We are in 2023; to fight mass tourism, our groups have only 10 people. We could do whatever, but our slogan has always been "We love this place." Well, we assume the duty of making it sustainable. We are The guides you need, and this is the tour the nobel city of Toledo needs us to do. We will make a walking tour and visit the main monuments (including the Cathedral) in small groups where the guide will speak just one language (we do not like bilingual tours either).

    One of the most important squares in town and our meeting point.

  • Calle Comercio (Pass By)

    we will walk from Zocodover Sq. to the Cathedral enjoying this unique street.

  • Iglesia de Santo Tome

    Home of Greco's masterpiece "The burial of the Lord of Orgaz" and a magnificent mudéjar temple.

  • Synagogue of Saint Mary the White

    This used to be a Synagoge, nowadays is a mudéjar-style Church.

  • Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes

    We will visit this Gothic-Elizabethan (when we say Elizabethan we mean our Isabel -Elizabeth- I of Spain) Monastery.

  • Catedral Primada

    One of the most impressive temples of the Spanish Gothic Style. We'll spend about an hour inside of this wonderful building.

Great tour in Toledo

Excellent tour & guide! We were a very small group (2 x couples) so it felt like a private tour. It moved at a good pace and we covered a lot of ground but still had some time before our train back to see other sites through the bracelet they provide and enjoy some time on our own. Our guide's tour of the cathedral was phenomenal!

Based on our experience, I highly recommend this tour. The Toledo Cathedral of St. Mary was amazing and made even better with the background information provided by our guide Stefania. She was great. Her English was fluent and easily understandable.. She seemed enthusiastic and passionate about the knowledge she was relating to us. She reached out in advance via email and WhatsApp to let us know precisely where to meet. And she gave us tips on where and how to get some great photos as well as shopping and dinning suggestions.

Excellent tour! Alex is a great local guide who is knowledgeable and passionate about art, history, culture, and politics of Spain. You will get some expert textbook factoids about also some deeply insightful guidance from this tour. I thought this was a nice touch and valuable to have more than the typical facts.
