Overview

Explore the waters off the coast of British Columbia on this whale watching tour to see killer whales, humpbacks, seals, sea lions, porpoises, marine birds and more. A marine naturalist will guide your tour helping to point out areas of interest and provide tips for seeing wildlife. Your journey will offer you unparalleled views of downtown Vancouver as you maneuver along the Strait of Georgia and beyond in your search for wildlife. Please note: Tour may last anywhere between 3 and 5 hours, depending on when you see wildlife, though tours are typically around 4 hours in length.

Itinerary

Departing from historic Granville Island, join Vancouver’s Original Whale Watchers on an intimate west coast adventure. Every tour is different as we explore the Strait of Georgia, Howe Sound, the Canadian Gulf Islands, and beyond in search of killer whales, humpbacks, seals, sea lions, eagles, and more! Sightings guaranteed or your next trip is free. Your adventure is professionally guided by a marine naturalist who will share insight on animal behaviour and provide you with a personalized educational experience. You will learn about the wildlife, ecology, history, and geography of our coast with particular emphasis on marine conservation. Tours vary between 3-5 hours depending on where the whales are on the day of your adventure.

Humpbacks and a nice afternoon on the water- seals too!

Fun time on the water- go into these tours knowing that nothing is promised but a fun boat ride guided by a highly keen and knowledgeable marine biologist who’s able to make clear what whales are up to and what government and conservation does to protect their populations. BUT we saw humpback whales and it was moving to know they’re there

Great experience all round! Communication was very clear on what to expect. We departed on time and had a comfortable safe trip to observe blue whales and killer whales. We spent time observing the blue whales first and then the killer whales. On our way back we saw an eagle and too many sea lions to count. I recommend this company for your whale watching experience.

We saw humpback whales, harbour seals, sea otter and a bald eagle. It was amazing!!! Definitely recommend this excursion.

Very nice guide and captain! We saw multiple humpback whales and other marine animals. The weather was amazing, and Granville Island is also beautiful. I would recommend planning some extra time just to walk around!

We loved the experience. There are a couple of companies that offer that tour, but my main reason for choosing them was that they depart from Granville Island, which made it much easier for us to get there since we were staying in downtown Vancouver. We saw humpback whales , orcas and seals. It was cool experience .
