Overview

Ngana Julaymba Dungay: We All Going Daintree Spend the morning or afternoon with a local Aboriginal tour guide, learning about culturally significant areas and the connection the Kuku Yalanji still have with their land. Learn the history, culture and traditions of the local Aboriginal people and the area. Guided walk through the rainforest and coastal habitats learning about the environment, different foods and medicines utilized from nature, sample some bush tucker, collect shellfish and try traditional Aboriginal hunting practices, have a go at spear throwing and if you are lucky, catch a mud crab. Complete the adventure by cooling off in a pristine freshwater stream.

    Guided rainforest walk learning the Aboriginal connection to the land, the rainforest and the traditional practises of utilising the resources i.e. bush medicines, foods, plant uses. Experience the Mossman Gorge, and if time permits a swim.

    The world heritage listed Daintree rainforest is the world's oldest living rainforest, take a guided rainforest walk and learn the connection the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people have with the rainforest.

Highlight of our holiday

This is a must do experience. Juan delivers the knowledgeable and experience of his culture in such an amazing, inviting and friendly way. It was the highlight for our family holiday and we were so blessed to have had this experience with Juan. We still talk about it now. Again, this is a must do if your up here! We loved Aaron’s enthusiasm for the area. He showed us amazing native foods, fascinating birds and bats, and enhanced our experience with his extensive knowledge of the area. The van was comfortable and he was a delightful guide.

Walkout tour- Must Do!

We did a Walkabout Tour with Aaron, not only was the tour so informative, interesting, and engaging but he was so personable! This is by far one of my favorite tours I’ve done to date! We did half day tour and was perfect for us, we tried local fruit you don’t see at the grocery stores, we had baked goods from his family, and we tried local plant medicines. It was such a beautiful tour, highly recommended doing!!

Hands down the best tour to do in Port Douglas! Our guide Aaron was genuinely exceptional, he thought is so much.c connected with my teens and helped to create lifelong memories.

Fantastic experience

We spent half a day walking with Aaron on country. He generously shared his extensive knowledge of bush tucker and the medicinal properties of fruits, plants and green ants. We had a delicious afternoon tea of tropical fruit and damper before Aaron taught us how to find and catch mud crabs. He showed us a beautiful spider, fruit bats and a crocodile in the wild. Aaron is very knowledgeable, has a great sense of humour and made the afternoon one we won’t ever forget. We learnt so much. Thank you Aaron!
