This is the only tour in Old Town Alexandria that focuses on the Revolutionary War. We will show some of the most important (yet not well known) locations that led to the American Revolution. On this tour you will discover Alexandria's connection to the the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Bill of Rights. We will visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the American Revolution. Get ready to walk in the churchyard where George Washington publicly declared he would take up arms to fight for the American colonies. We will explore the historic homes and businesses of famous Revolutionary War veterans. Plus we will show you where the Marquis de Lafayette addressed the citizens of Alexandria! Great Tour and even better guide!!!

Great tour and fantastic guide. Filled with interesting facts from someone who has obviously spent years researching the founding and history of Alexandria. Guide spent ample time at each site, expounding by answering group questions. Even as the tour went slightly over time, they continued to provide great information. We were even taken into the fial church, which was an extra, and very special.

Tim was a charismatic and personable guide. He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the history of Alexandria and the Revolutionary/American/Civil Wars. Definitely recommend this tour.

Informative & Fun tour

Tim led a tour for me and my boyfriend, it was just the two of us (during the heatwave) and Tim still took his time to show us around Alexandria and make the tour special. Each stop was interesting and Tim had great stories to tell; we walked away having learned some new things - even as history lovers! Tim was an excellent guide and even gave us some tips on other things to do while we were in Alexandria.
