The historic center of Rio de Janeiro is surrounded by centuries-old roads and buildings that illustrate important passages in the history of Brazil from the imperial period to the republic. Visitors who walk along Avenida Rio Branco, pass through Largo da Carioca, Cinelândia, return and take the Ombudsman to Rua Primeiro de Março and explore many other paths, will find museums, cultural centers and public places where characters from Machado de Assis and they represented the meeting point of intellectuals until the middle of the 20th century.

Nice, personalized, and friendly tour!

My wife, teen daughter, and I enjoyed very much our private tour of the old city and downtown area. Cesar, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly. He not only answered all our questions but gave us an historical overview of the birth of Brazil from being a Portuguese colony. Highly recommended.
