Itinerary

Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon (Pass By)

You'll be met at your hotel by your private guide and head to the base of Corcovado Mountain by car, passing by Rio's beaches and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon on the way.
Corcovado - Christ the Redeemer

Reaching the Cosme Velho district, you'll take a unique Swiss cogwheel train that climbs the mountain from its base to nearly the summit. The very top is reached by climbing a flight of stairs to arrive at the iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue. The view, from this vantage point, with the surrounding Tijuca National Forest spreading below and a circle of mountains closing the horizon at the very back of the Guanabara bay is truly spectacular. After some time to walk around and take photos, we make the way back down.

We then head towards to the bohemian Santa Teresa neighborhood, home to a collection of local boutiques and galleries. The charming area of Santa Teresa also features many trendy bars and restaurants offering several options of snacks and dishes, not to mention its breathtaking views. Don’t miss out on it!

From Santa Teresa to Lapa, there is the famous Selaron steps, a stairway decorated with colorful tiles. Known for its energetic bohemian vibe, “Lapa” is the most buzzing area in town day and nighttime.

Have you ever heard of the Lapa neighborhood? If not, it should! It's very easy to know that you've arrived in Lapa. There is a famous monument that is the official image of Lapa, the large white arches aqueduct postcard of Rio.

Our guide, Fabio, and his driver were outstanding. They customized the tour to suit our needs and schedule. They were professional, polite and accommodating. Fábio was knowledgeable, interesting and fun. He masterfully maneuvered us through the crowds - especially at Christ the Redeemer- saving us time and allowing us to see much more. He also went above and beyond by coming into the airport with us and helping us get checked in early. The tour was one of the highlights of our trips. Our guide, Fabio, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, interesting and fun. He took excellent care of us, ensuring we saw everything we could in the time allocated. He was masterful in getting us through the crowds. He went above and beyond by coming into the airport with us and ensuring we were checked in for our flight. Our driver was exceptional as well. Madu, Camila, and Junior are great people. My flight was significantly delayed and I only had less than 24 hours in Rio. They were very nice and flexible to accommodate my changed flight and re-arranged the whole tour to start on 7am on a Sunday. They are also result-oriented and made things happen for me however I want it. I’m really grateful and appreciate the accommodation!! I had the chance to see Christ Redeemer, Sugarloaf, the beaches, the stairs, and a few other interesting places within 5 hour. Thank you so much!! I look forward to see you guys again next time in Rio.

Private tour of Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf mountain

The excursion today included some of the more traditional sites that most visitors see in Rio including Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf mountain. Camila took us through to both of the previously named sites and in addition we went through a number of the various neighborhoods in Rio. We were also able to see some unique views of Christ the Redeemer statue that are slightly off the beaten path. The feeling at the base of the statue is something that is hard to put into words. The energy at the precipice is palpable. Again, Camila has a wealth of information and was able to share tons of useful historical data. She was able to paint the picture of Brazil’s history from the imperial period through modern times and tied that into how and when the statue was constructed.
